Resumen
El liposarcoma es un tipo de cáncer mesenquimatoso raro que representa el 15 al 20% de los tipos de sarcoma, tiene factores de riesgo desconocidos y opciones de tratamiento limitadas. Se encuentra principalmente en las extremidades y en el retroperitoneo, su tratamiento es quirúrgico y su pronóstico depende del grado histopatológico, márgenes de resección y localización. Se presenta el caso de un paciente masculino de 74 años quien acudió por aumento de volumen abdominal, se realizó extirpación quirúrgica de masa abdominal con evolución favorable, hasta el momento sin recidiva. Esta enfermedad es poco frecuente su recurrencia es significativa por lo cual es importante su conocimiento para el manejo multidisciplinario.
